“PAT VARSALLONA TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE USASA HALL OF FAME ON OCTOBER 10, 2009 in PHOENIX, ARIZONA”

The United States Adult Soccer Association has announced that among the 2009 Hall of Fame Inductees, it has chosen to honor Pat Varsallona, longtime Executive Director of the New Jersey Soccer Association and of the Garden State Soccer League

Mr. Pasquale “Pat” Varsallona was born in Favignana, Italy, and later moved to Torino, Italy, the city where he started his soccer career as a youth player. Upon his arrival to the United States, he immediately began playing Semi-Professional soccer for various teams in New Jersey. He also had an illustrious collegiate career starring his first two years with national powerhouse Mercer County Community College, then playing his Junior and Senior years at Drexel University, where is was chosen as a First Team All-American for the Mid-Atlantic region.

In 1976 he founded the Central Jersey Youth Soccer Association and in 1980, he established the Garden State Soccer League, a premier soccer league in New Jersey for men, women and youth with emphasis on the older age youth teams to prepare them for the adult environment.

Pat is involved in many administrative capacities: he has been a member of the United State Soccer Federation’s International Games Committee and a member of the U.S.A.S.A.’s Rules Committee.

He is currently the Chairman of the U20 National Tournament Committee

He is also serving as the New Jersey Soccer Association Executive Director, a capacity he has held since 1984, as the Commissioner of Champions League Soccer, a Regional League of the USASA and as the Chief Executive Officer of the Garden State Soccer League.

Pat has been married for 38 years to Ellen Volk, and together they have 2 boys: Derrick and Andrew.

The NJSA is a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of the game of soccer for adults male and female players.

Take Exit 7A. After the toll, bear to your left and take Rte 195 WEST (towards Trenton, Hamilton). Once on Rte 195 West, take EXIT 3B onto Yardville/Hamilton Square Rd. Stay on Yardville/Hamilton Square Rd. Go to the 4^TH TRAFFIC LIGHT (you CANNOT go straight anymore). You will now make a LEFT TURN onto Rte 33 WEST. Once on Rte 33, at the FIRST traffic light, make a RIGHT TURN. Go to the end of the street and you will come to a T intersection (you cannot go straight anymore). (At this corner there is a CONSTITUTION BANK on your left side). Make a LEFT TURN onto Nottingham Way.

The NJSA office building is the second building after the Bank’s parking lot ON your LEFT SIDE.
